Ever need a Pick Me Up?
Have you even needed a mental pick me up? A change of thoughts? Or a shift in mindset?
I know I have! And music has regularly been that supportive pick me up when I needed it.
When I had my first child I really wanted to create a set of songs that could do that for them. A playlist that they could play to remind them of their strengths, capabilities and help build their confidence; all while shifting negative thoughts and feelings that might be present.
Thich Nhat Hahn said “If you really know how to live, what better way to start
the day than with a smile? Smiling helps you approach the day with gentleness and understanding. Smile with your whole being.”
So we play this set of songs every morning because it makes us smile, it helps build skills, and it shift our moods.
*Happy bonus: not only does it help my kiddo, it helps me too!
Now, I’m not one to keep such helpful things to myself, so I’m sharing it with you all here!
Below is the list of songs currently on the playlist. I hope these songs help shift moods and builds skills for you!
How far ill go – Auli’i Cravalho
A Million Dreams – Ziv Zaifman, Hugh Jackman
Get Back Up Again – Anna Kendrick
Never Ever Give Up – Matthew West
Mind My Business – Travis World
Live Your Story – Auli’i Cravalho
